Our new bundle of Joy!

I am sorry it has taken me forever to post anything. It has started to settle down a bit here at the homestead so I felt like I could post something.
Ethan Elbert John was born on February 5th at 2:40 a.m. He weighed 8 lbs 9 oz. which was exactly what Preston weighed! I thought that was amazing since I had never heard of that before. My labor and delivery was like night and day compared to Preston's. He is my easy baby so far, which is just what I needed and prayed for. He sleeps really good and eats really good. I feel so blessed to have him here and healthy. All I need to do now is post pics of him.... so keep checking back!

Still here and no baby

Well, I have tried pretty much everything I can think of to start my labor, except for jumping on a trampoline and running up a flight of stairs. I did go on a 45 minute walk this morning and that included a big hill, and I did drink some castor oil mixed in with a strawberry frosty, I couldn't taste the oil thank goodness! I think this baby is just comfy and cozy and doesn't want to budge. Preston came on his due date and I think this baby has a great chance of doing the same. Oh well, the 4th is only 4 days away. I guess I can handle that, as long as it is only 4 more days.

Here are some random pics of our Christmas vacation I wanted to post

I am huge I know! I think I am 35 or 36 weeks here.

Preston and Joel riding the lawnmower in Buckeye.

We got a portable potty for Christmas from Joel's parents. Gross huh!?

Cutie patootie! This is probably one of the only times I have got him to smile at the camera!

Christmas, My birthday, and a Funeral

Happy New Year Everyone! I thought I needed to post one last time before the baby came! I am 37 weeks now and anxiously awaiting the arrival of a new baby boy!

We had a really nice Christmas down in Buckeye with Joel's family. We always feel so blessed and so fortunate after Christmas to able to be with family and to receive so much.

Preston got all of his favorite things for Christmas, a Buzz Lightyear, a couple of trains, a bulldozer all from Santa, and a tractor from Grandma and Grandpa John.

Here is Preston with his cousins, Tessa, and Maci on Christmas morning!

Unfortunately, some sad things happened when we were down there. Joel's grandpa passed away the day after Christmas, but we were so lucky to be able to see him before he passed. He was 88 years old and had lived a great life. He was such a great grandpa and a good man.

It was a beautiful funeral and graveside. Here is a picture of all of the grandsons carrying the casket. I thought it was a beautiful sight, how they were all in white shirts and ties.

I also celebrated my 27th birthday on Dec. 30th! Man that sounds old! Joel and I were able to go out to dinner, which was so nice to be out together just the two of us. We went to Outback Steakhouse, one of my all time favorites! It was sooo good too!
This is after dinner, I had already changed into my pj's. Joel sang Happy Birthday and surprised me with a yummy, beautiful, chocolate cake. It was a really nice birthday!
